About Nominate a Senior

Nominate a Senior is a project of Chabad on the East Side. 

​

Our mission? To make it easy for family and friends to brighten the day of an elderly loved one! 

​

How? By nominating them to receive a shabbat care package!

Challah, wine, shabbat candles and a bouquet of flowers.

How it works

​

To nominate a senior click on the Nominate link below and fill out the form. You may choose to include a personalized message as well.

​

Shabbat packages will be delivered to your senior’s door on Thursday or Friday of that week. 

​

Once a senior has received a package, they will then have the opportunity to be a “carrier of kindness” and nominate two of their own friends to receive shabbat care packages.

All packages are prepared and delivered following strict COVID - 19 safety guidelines.

Covid 19 Safety Protocols

• Use of gloves and mask, as well as proper hygiene, are ensured when preparing and delivering the Shabbat packages.

• All volunteers and staff of the Nominate a Senior project have not been out of the country within 14 days.

• All volunteers and staff have not been in contact with anyone testing positive for Covid-19.

• Deliveries will be made following strict social distance guidelines. Deliveries will be left with the concierge when necessary.
